Petting a dog is good for our mental health
New study from Switzerland shows that petting a dog can reduce stress level(cortisol) and lower the blood pressure. That why people use animals for therapeutic reasons, they can help dealing with depression or ptsd. It’s most helpful for kids since most of them love pets. This study showed that petting a plush dog could have similar effect, that’s a better option for patients with animal allergies.
I think it’s grate that people notice that owning a pet could have such an amazing advantages. It’s also good because many animals from shelter could find a new home and help people. But we have remember that owning a pet is a huge responsibility and not everyone is suitable for it.
